George Washington Bridge Bus Station

Conveniently situated in the heart of the historic Washington Heights area of upper Manhattan, the George Washington Bridge Bus Station (GWBBS) occupies a two-block site at 4211 Broadway between 178th and 179th Streets, and Fort Washington and Wadsworth Avenues.
The GWBBS attracts 15,000 commuters and visitors daily. The facility offers commuter bus service to northern New Jersey and Rockland County in New York and is served by several NYC bus and subway lines. The bus station also features service to regional shopping centers, Washington D.C., Florida, and Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut. For more information on using the GWBBS click here.
The 30,000-square-foot complex is home to national and local retailers, offering a range of products and services directed to commuters and the local community.
Main Concourse
Offering level bus ticket sales, passenger information services, restrooms and television monitors that display bus availabilities, the Main Concourse is the primary retail level at the bus station. The New York National Bank, a bookstore, convenience stores, eateries, ATM machines, an optometrist, dental service and a newsstand are located on this level.
Street Level
Blockbuster Video and a Rite Aid drug store are located on the Broadway side of the GWBBS.
Lower Level
Healthcare services and a newsstand are located on the lower level which also features local subway and bus service.
The Port Authority has invested $45 million in upgrades at the bus station since it opened in 1963. Recent improvements include new seating, lighting and ceiling on the main concourse and lower level and the modernization of rest rooms. A customer survey gave the GWBBS high marks for appearance, amenities and bus service options.
