The Legal Center

The Legal Center at One Riverfront Plaza is a 20-story, 418,889 square foot class A office building located in the heart of the Newark Renaissance, directly to the north of Newark's Pennsylvania Station. Home to many of New Jersey's top law firms, this striking building was specifically designed to meet the needs of legal professionals and others who demand efficiency, convenience and value at a prestigious and accessible address. Large floor plates, handsome finishes and a beautifully appointed two-story lobby enhance productivity, while surrounding employees in style and elegance.
Location
The Legal Center is just minutes from Manhattan, Newark Liberty International Airport and nine major highways. An enclosed pedestrian walkway connects the building to the Gateway Complex (including a Hilton Hotel) and Newark's Penn Station. This allows easy access to Amtrak, PATH and NJ Transit rail and bus systems including a direct rail link to Newark Liberty International Airport.
Situated in the city's bustling business district, The Legal Center is just minutes from federal and district courts, City Hall and Essex County government offices. The New Jersey Performing Arts Center and the new Riverfront Baseball Stadium are within close proximity.
Amenities and Services
The Legal Center offers numerous amenities and on-site support services including 24-hour access with a 24/7 manned security desk, a 462-space parking garage, and a landscaped plaza.
On-site support services include reprographics and document support services, a 160-seat bistro style restaurant, full-service banking and postal facilities, a newsstand/sundry shop and access to the Port Authority's regional fiber optic telecommunications network.
History
The Legal Center is a collaborative development of the Newark Legal and Communications Center Urban Renewal Corporation (a subsidiary of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey), the City of Newark and the Newark Economic Development Corporation. Since its opening, The Legal Center has stimulated private development of similar projects along the city's waterfront. The building has been net-leased to Matrix Development Group, effective December 20, 2001. Matrix is responsible for leasing and the daily management and operation of the building.
