Temporary WTC PATH Terminal
Temporary WTC PATH Project Description
Reconstruction of the WTC PATH station in substantially the same configuration as existed pre September 11th. This is a facility with minimal finishes and amenities. The station is expected to be in operation for several years until a permanent WTC PATH terminal can be planned, designed, and constructed.

In the Aftermath of 9/11
The previous PATH terminal at the World Trade Center was completely destroyed. The track connecting the terminal to the tunnels was also destroyed.

Note:

  • A new (temporary) three-platform station allowing PATH service to be restored to lower Manhattan.
  • Access at Church Street
  • New escalators and elevators
  • ADA accessible
  • Platforms accommodate 8-car trains
  • Connections to E, N, R NYC subway systems provided
  • Updated signalization and communications systems

Status
The Temporary Station was opened on November 23, 2003. All major construction is substantially complete with minor punch list items remaining.
