Police Academy Training Program

While participating at the Police Academy Training Program, candidates will be required to meet academic, physical fitness and other standards. Only those candidates who meet the required achievement standards will graduate from the Academy and be considered for appointment to the Port Authority Police Department.

Physical Fitness Assessment: Candidates must successfully complete a physical fitness assessment to demonstrate cardiovascular endurance, absolute strength, dynamic strength, muscular endurance, and flexibility. This assessment may include, but is not limited to the following activities: running, sit-ups, push-ups, and strength tests.

Candidates must successfully complete a rigorous program of field training and academic instruction and pass examinations to demonstrate proficiency in order to complete the Academy.
