Tribute WTC Visitor Center: The Tribute Center is a remembrance program conceived by members of the September 11 Families Association. It offers walking tours, exhibits and programs about the tragic events of September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993, and connects visitors who want to understand and appreciate these events with the people who experienced them. Battery Park City Parks Conservancy: The Conservancy operates nearly 36 acres of open space on the southern tip of Manhattan, including parks and gardens, playing fields, playgrounds, plazas and walkways. Learn more.

WTC Rebuilding Facts

  • A total of 8,650 tons of steel and 65,000 cubic yards of concrete must be installed to build the National September 11 Memorial & Museum.
  • The Chiller Plant is a 12,500-ton system designed to provide air conditioning for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub, the Memorial & Museum, retail space and other occupied areas.
  • A total of more than 30,000 tons of steel and 150,000 cubic yards of concrete are needed to build the World Trade Center Transportation Hub.
  • A total of 40,000 tons of steel and 200,000 cubic yards of concrete must be installed to build One World Trade Center.
  • Construction of the South Bathtub, which will house the Vehicle Security Center, will require the installation of 34 foundation wall panels, each 55 to 60 feet deep.
